Question 375918
Am I missing something here?
How did you start with {{{((-1)^k+1)*k}}} (no x's) and end up with {{{x^3-2x^2+3x-4}}}
Have you mixed up two different problems?
Anyway, back to the original question:
Evaluate {{{((-1)^(k+1)*k)}}} for k = 1 through 4.
Start with k=1.
{{{((-1)^(1+1)*1) = ((-1)^2)*(1)}}}={{{1*1 = 1}}}
Now k=2.
{{{((-1)^(2+1))*(2) = ((-1)^3)*(2)}}}={{{(-1)*2 = -2}}}
Now you should be able to finish this by following the examples above.
Good luck!
