Question 375692

{{{(4x^2-5x-3)(1+2x^2)}}} Start with the given expression.

{{{4x^2(1+2x^2)-5x(1+2x^2)-3(1+2x^2)}}} Expand.

{{{(4x^2)*(1)+(4x^2)*(2x^2)+(-5x)*(1)+(-5x)*(2x^2)+(-3)*(1)+(-3)*(2x^2)}}} Distribute.

{{{4*x^2+8*x^4-5*x-10*x^3-3-6*x^2}}} Multiply.

{{{8*x^4-10*x^3-2*x^2-5*x-3}}} Now combine like terms.

 So {{{(4x^2-5x-3)(1+2x^2)}}} expands to {{{8*x^4-10*x^3-2*x^2-5*x-3}}}.

In other words, {{{(4x^2-5x-3)(1+2x^2)=8*x^4-10*x^3-2*x^2-5*x-3}}}.
