<font face="Garamond" size="+2">

Since the corner cut-outs are 10cm square, the depth of the box must be 10 cm. Since the volume is 1200 cm³, the area of the base must be 120 cm². Since the base is square:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x^2\ =\ 120]

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x\ =\ \pm\sqrt{120}]

Discard the negative root because you are looking for a measurement of length.

Use your calculator and round appropriately.
