Solve your equation for *[tex \Large y] in terms of everything else.  When you have simplified everything, you will have an equation that looks like *[tex \Large y\ =\ mx\ +\ b].


The value of *[tex \Large m], that is the coefficient on *[tex \Large x], is the slope.  The value of *[tex \Large b], that is the constant term, is the *[tex \Large y]-intercept.


Remember, if you end up with something that looks like *[tex \Large y\ =\ mx\ - b], you need to write it as *[tex \Large y\ =\ mx\ +\ (-b)] so that you get the sign on the intercept correctly.
