Question 40469
I have a square and in it a circumference. The shaded area is all around the circumference in the square. I have 15 ft. on the bottom and 15 ft. on the side.
I need to find the area of the shaded part using 3.14 for pi and round the answer to one decimal place.

Sounds like you have a circle inside a square.
Sounds like the radius of the circle is 7.5 ft.
Sounds like the side of the square is 15 ft.

Area of the square is 15^2 = 225 sq ft.
Area of the circle is (pi)r^2 = 3.14(7.5)^2 = 176.625 sq ft.

The shaded area is the square area - the circle area
shaded area = 225 - 176.625 = 48.375 sq. ft.
