If the average of 8,11,25 and p is 15, then 8+11+25+p=?. Is there any way of doing this type of problem without just guessing numbers and putting them in there?

(8 + 11+ 25  + p)/4 = 15 ( is the method of finding average)

Multiplying 4 on either side , we get 

44  + p = 60

      p =  16
