Question 360314
Two complementary angles are in the ratio of 2:3, find the measure of the complementary angle what does this mean?
.
Let x = measure of one angle
then because they're complementary
90-x = measure of second angle
.
x/(90-x) = 2/3
cross multiply:
3x = 2(90-x)
3x = 180-2x
5x = 180
x = 36 degrees (first angle)
.
Second angle:
90-x = 90-36 = 54 degrees
