Determine the real number values, *[tex \Large \alpha_1] and *[tex \Large \alpha_2] such that *[tex \Large f\left(\alpha_1\right)\ =\ 0] and *[tex \Large f\left(\alpha_2\right)\ =\ 0], IF they exist.  Then the *[tex \Large x]-intercepts are the points *[tex \Large \left(\alpha_1,0\right)] and *[tex \Large \left(\alpha_2,0\right)].  If  *[tex \Large \alpha_1\ =\ \alpha_2], then there is only one intercept, at the vertex.  If  *[tex \Large \alpha_1] and *[tex \Large \alpha_2] are complex numbers, then there are no intercepts.
