Question 352949
Using the sample of 40 observations, to test whether the population average time it takes Stats II students to run a mile is different from 9 minutes using a .05 significance level, what is the test statistic?
The mean of the sample is 10.25525 and I will be glad to post the sample data if necessary. My best guess is t=.93 but I'm unsure. Thanks in advance this site is great.
-------
x-bar = 10.26
---
test stat: t(10.26) = (10.26-9)/[s/sqrt(40)]
---
Need the sample standard deviation to get the test stat.
I should have asked for that.
But you can insert it and calculate the ts.
