Question 350665
"Half a number, decreased by 4 is between Two and Three" means that {{{2<=x/2-4<=3}}}

{{{2<=x/2-4<=3}}} Start with the given compound inequality.

{{{2+4<=x/2<=3+4}}} Add {{{4}}} to all sides.

{{{6<=x/2<=3+4}}} Combine like terms on the left side.

{{{6<=x/2<=7}}} Combine like terms on the right side.

{{{2*6<=x<=2*7}}} Multiply all sides by 2

{{{12<=x<=14}}} Multiply.

So the number is between 12 and 14 which makes the possible numbers to be 12, 13, or 14.
