Question 347997
Let C = Cost
Let x = weight of package, in pounds

Under 2 pounds:

C = 1.50

Between 2-5 pounds:

C = 0.75x

Over 5 pounds:

C = 0.25x + 3

These are all just lines.

On you graph, have Cost (in $) on the y-axis, and Weight (in pounds) on the x-axis.

From 0-2 pounds, your line will be a horizontal line at C=$1.50.

From 2-5 pounds, your line will be a diagonal line with a slope of 0.75 (or 3/4) and the y-intercept is 0.

After 5 pounds, your line will have a slope of 0.25 (or 1/4) and the y-intercept is 3.

So you will actually have 3 different lines on the same graph.

If you need assistance with the graph please let me know. Hope this helps!
