Question 340376
<font face="Garamond" size="+2">

Let *[tex \Large c] represent the cost. Let *[tex \Large s] represent the selling price. We are given that the markup is 20% of the cost, so the markup is *[tex \Large 0.2x]. From that we can write:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 0.2x\ =\ s\ -\ c]

And a little algebra...

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ s\ =\ 1.2c]

The markup as a percentage of sell price would be given by markup divided by sell price, so:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \frac{0.2c}{1.2c}]

You can do your own arithmetic.

*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
