Question 336311
Since a tolerance of 1 point is allowed, this means that the pH can be in the range 5.5 to 7.5 (subtract 1 from 6.5 to get 5.5 and add 1 to 6.5 to get 7.5)

If we let x = the pH level, then we want to make sure that the difference between x and 6.5 is less than or equal to 1. We also want this difference to be positive (so we have to use an absolute value). In symbolic form, this means that {{{abs(x-6.5)<=1}}}. Take note that if we solve that equation, we will get {{{5.5<=x<=7.5}}} which is what we got above.

So the absolute value inequality is {{{abs(x-6.5)<=1}}} where 'x' is the pH level.
