If you are going to restrict your available numbers to the nearest 100th, then the smallest number that is greater than 0.30 is 0.31 while the greatest number that is less than 0.4 is 0.39.


Consequently, multiplying by 0.4, you either get 0.4 X 0.31 = 0.124 on the low end or 0.4 X 0.39 = 0.156 on the high end.
