Question 334502
<font face="Garamond" size="+2">

Let *[tex \Large b_1] represent the amount Bill earned the first day. Then *[tex \Large b_1\ -\ 10.00] is the amount Art earned on the first day. Let *[tex \Large b_2] represent the amount Bill earned the second day. Then *[tex \Large b_2\ +\ 7.50] is the amount Art earned on the second day.

In total, Bill earned:  *[tex \Large b_1\ +\ b_2]

In total, Art earned:  *[tex \Large b_1\ -\ 10.00\ +\ b_2\ +\ 7.50]

The difference is:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ (b_1\ +\ b_2)\ -\ (b_1\ -\ 10.00\ +\ b_2\ +\ 7.50)]

A little simplification and you will have your answer. Remember, a negative amount means Art got less than Bill.
