Question 334023
In order for this to make sense, I will change 6 cm to 6m (A 6 cm pond???)
:
a pond with a 6 m diametre, is the shape of a cylinder, it is 40cm deep, how much plastic liner will you need to cover the surface of the pond,
:
Change 40 cm to .4 m deep
radius = 6/2 = 3 m
:
Find the area of the bottom of the pond
A = {{{pi*3^2}}}
A = 28.274 sq/m
:
Find area of the round side (circumference * the depth)
A = {{{pi*6}}} * .4
A = 7.54 sq/m
:
total area to cover: 28.274 + 7.54 = 35.8 ~ 36 sq/m of plastic
:
 how many litres of water will you need to fill the pond?
Find the volume
V = {{{pi*3^2*.4}}}
V = 11.31 cu/meter
:
Convert cubic meters to liters,  1000 * 11.31 = 11,310 liters.
