Question 332230
It says to use the elimination method for this problem but I don't understand what to do because it says the answers has not solution. Can someone please help. I am so confused.
2x+3y=15
8x+12y=40 --> 2x + 3y = 10
---------------
The 1st eqn says 2x+3y = 15, the 2nd says it = 10.
It can't be both, so there's no solution, meaning there's no x&y that fit both equations.
If you graph these, you get 2 parallel lines. No intersection, no solution.
-----------
Using elimination methods:
2x+3y=15
2x+3y=10
--------- Subtract
0 = 5  It's obvious something's not right --> no solution
