Question 36814
This problem is slightly confusing for me. You ask for two answers, maximum and minimum, but you only give one perimeter, using half of the acreage.

Anyway, here is one solution:
Let x=bushels of wheat
   2x=bushels of corn

Then: 0.03(2x) + 0.06 (x) = 240 acres
      0.06x + 0.06x = 240
      0.12x = 240
      x = 240/0.12 = 2000
     2x = 4000

So: acres of wheat is 2000 and acres of corn is 4000

This is not a hard question for 9th grade math. Unless of course, I got it wrong?
