want to know which rectangle is closest to squareness dimensions are 4 x 5; 8 x 9; and 10 x 12.

The closer to a square a rectangle is, the closer the fraction (ratio) {{{(WIDTH)/(LENGTH)}}} is to 1.  And we can tell by changing the
fraction to a decimal.

In the case of 4 x 5,

{{{(WIDTH)/(LENGTH)=4/5=.8000}}}

In the case of 8 x 9,

{{{(WIDTH)/(LENGTH)=8/9=.888888889}}}

In the case of 10 x 12,

{{{(WIDTH)/(LENGTH)=10/12=.833333333}}}

So the closest to 1 is .888888889 or the 8 x 9 rectangle.
