Question 313094
"Please help me with this...i seem toget a different answer each time i have tried towork it.....

find the x and y intercepts. If there are no x intercepts state this
f(x) = x^2 +13x

i have worked it and come up with no x intercepts. just want to make sure that is correct"

f(x) is a function, it means y is a function of x, a function means there is only one x-value for every y-value

a x-intercept is where the function crosses the x-axis, it is where y=0
a y-intercept is where the function crosses the y-axis, it is where x=0

f(x) = x^2 + 13x
find x-intercept by plugging in 0 for f(x)
0 = x^2 + 13x
0 = x(x+13)
x = 0 or x = -13, so 2 x-intercepts
find y-intercept by plugging in 0 for x
f(0) = 0^2 + 13(0) = 0 + 0 = 0
the y-intercept is 0
