Question 311841
Could you explain how I would write an algebraic expression with slope of 1/2 passing through the point (4,2)
.
"point-slope" form of a line:
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
.
Plug in the information given from the problem:
y - 2 = (1/2)(x - 4)
y - 2 = (1/2)x - 2
y = (1/2)x (this is what they're looking for -- equation of line in "slope-intercept" form)
