Most likely it's because you did not answer the question.
The question was..."Express the ANGLE of elevation..." Not the SINE of the angle.
So you want the angle (A) whose sine is {{{h/500}}} and this is expressed as...
{{{A = Sin^(-1)(h/500)}}} or...
{{{A}}}= Inverse{{{sin(h/500)}}}
