Question 309637
Hello,
We know the formula for the area of a triangle is A=1/2BH so we can plug in the values known:(Hint: let x be the height and 1/3(x) be the base)
24=1/2(x)(1/3)x Rewrite this as:
24=1/6x^2 Multiply both sides by 6 to get:
144=x^2 Square root both sides to get:
x=12
So now we know the height is 12 meters and the base is 4 meters.
Plug these into the formula and it works.
Make sense?
