Question 307618
hat are the correct steps of solving this problem
sqrt( 4x-1 )= sqrt( 3x+5 )
I just want to make sure but i assume to square both sides to cancel the square root making them 4x-1 = 3x+5 and then subtracting the 3x making it 1x-1= 5 then add the one making it 1x = 6 then divide by one making it x = 6
:
You don't need to bother to divide by 1, but that is correct, you can confirm this on your calc:
Enter {{{sqrt(4(6)-1)}}} = 4.7958...
Enter {{{sqrt(3(6)+5)}}} = 4.7958...
