Question 307594
This looks suspiciously like an ellipse!
The standard form of the equation of an ellipse with center @ (0,0) and major axis on the x-axis is:
{{{x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1}}}
Your equation is:
{{{x^2+25y^2 = 25}}} If you divide both sides by 25, you'll get...
{{{x^2/25 + y^2 = 1}}} which can be rewritten as...
{{{x^2/5^2 + y^2/1^2 = 1}}} Compare this with the standard form:
{{{x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1}}} and you'll see that a = 5 and b = 1, so you have the equation of an ellipse with center @ (0,0), semi-major axis = 5 and semi-minor axis = 1.
