Use either polynomial long division to determine if the remainder when *[tex \Large 3x^2\ +\ 14x\ +\ 3x\ -\ 22] is divided by *[tex \Large x\ +\ 4] is equal to zero, or use synthetic division to determine whether *[tex \Large P(4)\ =\ 0]. If so, then *[tex \Large x\ +\ 4] is a factor, otherwise not.
