On the Complex plane, with x being the real part and y being the imaginary part, we can plot the points (1,-2) and (3,1)...i take it this is the second point? Your question is a bit debateable.


Anyway, Start at the origin and plot the point (1,-2). Draw a line from the origin to this point, A. Then from A go 3 units to the right and 1 up and plot this point, B. Draw a line from A to B.


Now, Draw a third line from the origin directly to B. This is the "addition of the 2 vectors and is equal to (4,-1i).
