Question 294112
Hello sorry to bother you but am having a lot of trouble with this linear equation I was told to equal the y to zero then solve and then the x to zero then solve, The fist time I did y and got 5 for y, I had put the x as zero which eliminated the -3/4x and then just left my five? Well now this solving for x for this one is really confusing me, think I'm doing it completely wrong! I appreciate the help, thanks so much!!!

y=-3/4 x + 5

You have 1 equation and 2 variables. There is not way to solve it.
You can graph it. It's a linear eqn, meaning the graph is a straight line.
-------------
To graph it, you need 2 points. One way to get 2 points is to make y = 0 and find x, then make x = 0 and find y.

Then draw a line thru them.
Every point on the line is a "solution" to the equation, meaning you can sub the x and y values, and the eqn is true.
