Question 34905
Well, for your problems to work they must be equal to something, for your level, a constant. You want to put the variable on one side of the equation and everything else on the other side.

For example:I will set your equations equal to 0.
{{{4a+2=0}}} The equation
{{{4a+2-2=0-2}}} Subtracting the constant 2 from both sides to get the term with the variable alone
{{{4a=-2}}} Condensing
{{{4a/4=-2/4}}} Dividing by the constant 4 to get a alone
{{{a=-1/2}}} The answer

You can do the same things with the rest of the equations, the key is to get the variable alone.
