Question 34372
okay, so lets set up the equation:
{{{6+2x+x=72}}}
{{{6+3x=72}}}
{{{6-6+3x=72-6}}}
{{{3x=66}}}
{{{3x/3=66/3}}}
{{{x=22}}}
So one number is 22, and the other is 6 more than twice 22, so the other number is {{{6+2(22)=6+44=50}}}. The two numbers are 22 and 50.

We can check that this works:
{{{50-6=44/2=22}}}
and {{{50+22=72}}} bingo!

Hope this helps,
