Question 281512
Hi there,

You definitely want to change the units so:

Q: convert 500 feet per second to kilometers per hour

{{{500 foot/second}}}

There are {{{60 second/minute}}} and {{{60 minute/hour}}}

so {{{ 500 foot/second * 60 second/minute}}}

You will see that you have a second on the numerator and denominator, therefore they get canceled and now you have minutes on bottom:

{{{ 500 foot/second * 60 second/minute * 60 minute/hour = 1800000 foot / hour}}}

We have the hour units done, we still need the to convert feet into kilometers:

There are 0.3048 meter / foot and 0.001 kilometer / meter

Similar thing happens:  1800000 foot / hour * .3048 meter / foot * .001 kilometer / meter = 548.64 kilometers/hour

548.64 kilometers/hour

Sorry, the formula program is giving me errors when I use decimal int he expressions, I had to remove them later on
