Question 276259
<font face="Garamond" size="+2">

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 2x^2\ +\ 15x\ -\ 8\ =\ 0]

This one factors rather tidily.

First we need

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ (2x\ \ \ \ )(x\ \ \ \ )]

Because that is the only way to get *[tex \Large 2x^2]

Now you can muck about with the various factors of -8, but try this: -1 times 8 equals -8, 2 times 8 is 16 and 16 - 1 is 15, so:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ (2x\ -\ 1)(x\ +\ 8)\ =\ 0]

Can you take it from here?
