Question 275553
Why can't you have an exponent greater than 6 in a quadratic equation?
Ans: You can.
x^8 + 2x^4 + 1 = 0
is a quadratic form:
(x^4)^2 + 2x^4 + 1 = 0
---
Factor:
(x^4+1)^2 = 0
(x^2+i)(x^2-i) = 0
x = +-sqrt(-i) or x = +-sqrt(i)
