Question 269175
how do i put find the slope of linear equations by putting them in to slope-intercept form? i.e) 2x-4y=3
:
The slope/intercept form: y = mx + b; where m is the slope
:
2x - 4y = 3
Subtract 2x from both sides
-4y = -2x + 3
Divide both sides by 4
-y = {{{-2/4}}}x + {{{3/4}}}
y has to be positive, multiply both sides by -1
y = {{{2/4}}}x - {{{3/4}}}
reduce the fraction
y = {{{1/2}}}x - {{{3/4}}}; this is the slope/intercept form, therefore
slope (m) = {{{1/2}}}
