Question 269117
Determine the correct critical value(s) in each of the following situations. You may assume data sets are normally distributed.

A two-tailed test with alpha = 0.025. You may assume the value of alpha is known.
-------------
Each tail will have (1/2)alpha of the population.
(1/2)(0.025) = 0.0125
The corresponding z-score is invNorm(0.0125) = -2.2414
Since it is two-tail there are two critical values:
z = +2.2414 and z = -2.2414
I used a TI-84 calculator to find invNorm(0.0125)
-----------------------------------------------------------

A left-tailed test with alpha = 0.10, unknown alpha, and a sample of size 35. You may assume the data is normally distributed.
invNorm(0.10) = -1.2674
--------------------------------
