Question 33319
do u mean 1. (2/3)(n-3) =8 or
           2. 2/3(n-3) =8..

I'm giving u both solutions aneway..

for 1.

     (2/3)(n-3) = 8
            n - 3 = 8(3/2)
             n-3 = 12

     therefore n = 12 + 3
                  = 15.

for 2.

       2/3 (n-3) = 8  (this means (n-3) is in the denominator with 3 )

  2/3*8   = n-3  (by cross multiplying 8 and n-3)

 simplifying we get,

         1/12  = n-3

         n= (1/12)+3

           = 37/12
