Question 33238
I have no idea what the 2 is doing. I am guessing it is a power, like: {{{ log x= log (x-3)^2 }}}?

{{{ log(x) = log(x-3)^2 }}}

Raise every term to power 10 (if log base is 10), and we get:

{{{ x = (x-3)^2 }}}
{{{ x = x^2-6x+9 }}}
{{{ x^2-7x+9 = 0 }}}

From here, factorise if you can. If not then use the quadratic formula instead.

This is all assuming that the 2 is a power. Even so, the method is still the same.
