lol the funny division sign..lol atleast i know what u mean. its called a square root sign, but im not sure if i got this problem written correctly, next time use parenthasies to explain what all goes together.
{{{sqrt((a+4)^2)}}} the square root cancels out with the square
{{{a+4}}} this is whats left

{{{sqrt(a+4^2)}}}
then:
{{{sqrt(a)+sqrt(4^2)}}}
{{{sqrt(a)+2}}}
