Question 264922
2 squareroot(25/16)
my answer was: 5/4
{{{2*sqrt(25/16)}}}
= 2*(5/4)
= 10/8 You didn't multiply by the 2
Also, the sqrt can be -5/4, so
= -10/8
-------
There are 2 possible square roots, 5/4, and -5/4.

i also had another question:
i dont no how to solve square roots with letters instead of numbers
for example:
square root(a^2/b^5)
{{{sqrt(a^2/b^5)}}}
= {{{sqrt(a^2/b^4)*sqrt(1/b)}}}
= {{{(a/b^2)*sqrt(1/b)}}}
It's not good to have a fraction in the radical, so more work is usually done.
= {{{(a/b^2)*sqrt(b/b^2)}}}
= {{{(a/b^3)*sqrt(b)}}}
= {{{a*sqrt(b)/b^3}}}
