Question 263602
I have to write an equation in point-slope form of the line that passes through the given points. My points are (1,5) and (-1,-5).
----
slope = (5--5)/(1--1) = 10/2 = 5
-------
Form is y = mx +b
You know m and that y = 5 when x = 1
Solve for "b":
5 = 5*1 + b
b = 0
--------------------
Equation:
y = 5x

I understand how to plot the points, but not how to put them in this formula
y= mx+b
