Let's first find the area of the square which is:
6 times 6 = 36 square cm
Now the area of the circle is: (Note the radius of the circle is 3 cm.)
A=3.14(3)^2 Do the calculations to get:
A=28.26 square cm
The ratio is
28.26:36 or could be written as:
ratio of circle to square is 28.26 square cm to 36 square cm
Make sense?
