Question 261924
how do i factor a polynomial equation such as 3x+6

Rewrite the expression showing all factors in each term:

3x + 6 =
3*x + 3*2

Look for factors common to each term. In this case only 3 is a common factor.

Using the Distributuve Law we have:

3*x + 3*2 = 3*(x + 2)
