Question 261269
This is a problem with units. To get the units right, just
make an equation with out numbers and only units
Let {{{s}}} = speed in mi/hr
{{{s}}} = (miles)/(hr)
{{{s}}} = (miles) / (min)x(hr/min)
Notice that (min) cancel and I'm left with (miles)/(hr)
The problem gives me (min) and (hrs)/(min) is known
(there is 1 hour in {{{60}}} min)
{{{s = 50 / (28*(1/60))}}}
Simplify the right sides by multiplying by {{{60/60}}}
{{{s = 50*60 / 28}}}
{{{s = 3000/28}}}
{{{s = 107.143}}} mi/hr answer
This looks about right since
{{{50/28 = 100/56}}}, so you're going
{{{100}}} mi is just under 1 hr
