Question 261131
Two cyclists, 30 miles apart, start riding toward each other at the same time. One cycles 2 times as fast as the other. If they meet 2 hours later, what is the speed (in mi/h) of the faster cyclist?

The time they travel to meet is the same since they start at the same time. = 2

Let speed of one be x
The speed of the other will be 2x

The total distance traveled by both the sisters = 30 miles.

Distance travel by one sister =  r * t  = 2x
Distance traveled by other sister = 2*2x=4x

2x+4x=30
6x=30
X=5

The speeds are 5 and 10 mph
