Question 258933
The formula to calculate the area of a rectangle is..

A = L * B

where A = Area of the rectangle
      L = Length of the rectangle
      B = Breadth of the rectangle

Now from the problem we have the following values..

A = 24
L = 8

Substituting these values in the above formula..

24 = 8 * B
24/8 = B
B = 3

So the the breadth of the rectangular rug is 3 feet.

The formula to calculate the perimeter of a rectangle is,

P = 2(L + B)
where P = Perimeter of the rectangle

Substituting the values for L and B..

P = 2(8 + 3)
P = 2(11)
P = 22

So the perimeter of the rectangular rug is 22 feet
