Question 258153
Here is the original question
(i) {{{(k^2 + k^4 - 12)/(k^2 + k^10 +24) * (k^2 + k - 12)/(k^2 -9)}}}
I think the k^10 should be 10k. Otherwise it would be really tough to get a nice answer. So, suppose this were the question:
(ii) {{{(k^2 + k^4 - 12)/(k^2 + 10k +24) * (k^2 + k - 12)/(k^2 -9)}}}
assuming everything is written correctly, we factor everything first as
(iii) {{{(k^2+4)(k^2-3)/((k+6)(k+4))}}} * {{{(k+4)(k-3)/(k+3)(k-3))}}}
canceling (k-3) and (k+4) we get
(iv) {{{(k^2+4)(k^2-3)/(k+6)}}} * {{{1/(k+3)}}}
and finally
(v) {{{(k^2+4)(k^2-3)/((k+6)(k+3))}}}
