Question 258008
Hello,
First we want to get this equation 8x-y = 72 into this form y=mx+b
8x-y = 72 So first we subtract 8x from both sides to give us:
-y=-8x+72 Now divide both sides by -1 to get rid of the negative sign in front of the "y".
y=8x-72 OK, Now we have it in the form of y=mx+b ("m" is the slope) so therefore:
Slope is 8 or some students like to put it as 8/1
