Question 253484
A coordinate plane consists of two lines, one horizontal and one vertical. The horizontal line is called "the x-axis" and the vertical line is called "the y-axis". I also cal the x-axis "the running axis" and the vertical "the jumping axis". You notice that they meet at a point. This is called the origin. With a coordinate plane we can plot any location we want in X,Y form. To plot any point, we first run and then jump. Or another way, move along the x-axis first, then turn and jump up or down the Y-axis.
Hope that is enough information.
