Question 252910
This is a bit confusing since we have a triangle and then a rug is introduced. But, here we go . . .
area of triangle has formula:
{{{A = (1/2)lw}}}
we are told that triangle area, A, is 12, so
{{{12 = (1/2)lw}}}
{{{24 = lw}}}.
Now we have a rug whose length is 2 feet more than width, or
L = W + 2.
24 = 6*4.
L = 6 feet and W = 4 feet.
Is that what you were thinking?
