Question 251458
(6v^2/(5v^2-10v-15))*(5v-15)/2v

{{{6v^2}}}/{{{5v^2-10v-15}}} * {{{5v-15}}}/{{{2v}}}  (original equation)

{{{6v^2)}}}/{{{5(v^2 - 2v -3)}}} * {{{5(v - 3)}}}/{{{2v}}}  (factored denominator in first equation by dividing 5.  Also factored numerator of 2nd equation by dividing 5)

{{{6v^2}}}/{{{5(v - 3)(v+1)}}} * {{{5(v - 3)}}}/{{{2v}}}  (factored the denominator of the first equation even further)

Now that you have factored everything, you can begin to cancel factors.

The {{{5(v - 3)}}} in the numerator will cancel the {{{5(v - 3)}}} in the denominator.

The {{{6v^2}}} in the numerator and the {{{2v}}} in the denominator will reduce to: {{{3v}}}.

Our final answer is:  {{{3v}}}/{{{v + 1}}}

you will see a few more examples of problems like these, k? :-) The explanations are a little better with words spoken. :-) You'll have to click on "See all" to see all the videos, but there are problems just like this at the site).
